Watering aloe vera: Wait for dry soil
Aloe vera
Aloe vera stores water in its leaves. Let the soil dry completely, then water thoroughly.

- Very easy
When does aloe vera need water?
Wait until the substrate is dry all the way through. Water thoroughly, then remove any excess. Water should not remain in the cover pot or leaf rosette. A pot with a drainage hole and cactus substrate makes drainage easier.
A bright position
A bright south- or west-facing window often works well. Acclimatise the plant gradually to strong direct sun after moving it. Reddish-brown leaves can indicate too much light, while pale, stretched growth is more consistent with too little.
Feeding and repotting
From April to August, cactus feed roughly every six to eight weeks is enough when used as directed. Pause in winter. Repot after about two to three years or when the plant becomes unstable in a small pot.
Every home and every plant is different. Use these values as a starting point and always check the soil and the plant itself.
